The Role:
This is a 12 month contract in Toledo, Ohio.
"The TAR Event Manager reports to the TAR Manager and leads, directs, manages all aspects of the planning, scheduling and execution of the Alky1 and Alky2 TAR (each approximately 45k direct field man-hours) at Toledo Refinery. Most of the boilermaker work will be focused at the reactor, DeC4 tower and DIB towers along with 1 drum and eight exchanger replacements. Most of the piping scope is inspection driven (IRs at end of life). Work hours are flexible depending on the work load and phase of the TAR FEL. During execution, expect minimum 6 day x 10 hr (occasional support on Sunday's and Holidays) for a period of 40-50 days.
- Responsible for safety, cost and schedule performance in accordance with the final sanctioned estimate & decision support package (DSP).
- Leads the front end planning and scheduling efforts necessary to execute the work on Alky1 and Alky2. Scope development has already begun.
- Drives and tracks team progress against the turnaround common process deliverables, driving decisions with the team, working with the main mechanical contractors and subcontractors on the development of their plan, schedule, resource plan, and the accuracy of their proposals.
- Holds responsibility for the accuracy and development of the TAR critical path plan. Reviews and challenges the contractors on their man-hour estimates and schedule activity sequence. Holds final decision on constructability disputes, including pre-TAR unit set-up of equipment, cranes, materials to support optimal execution strategy.
- Identifies resource needs (prior to and) during execution, holds final decision on the assignment of direct field labor resources with the contractor.
- Works with TAR Manager to secure necessary engineering resources to support critical path execution.
- During TAR execution participates in meetings and provides strategic advice to drive / support key management decisions."
